Water Time - App Blocker ("Water Time", "we", "our", or "us") is developed and operated by BraynLabs. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.

Information We Collect

Water Time is designed with your privacy in mind. We collect minimal data necessary to provide our service.

Photos you take for verification: When you verify hydration, you take a photo of your drink. This photo is sent to Google's Gemini AI service for analysis to determine if a drinking vessel is present. Photos are processed in real time and are not stored on our servers. We do not save, collect, or retain any photos you take.

App usage data: Water Time uses Android's UsageStatsManager to detect which app is currently in the foreground on your device. This data is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party. This information is used solely to determine when to show the hydration reminder overlay.

Local app data: Your settings, blocked apps list, hydration count, streak data, and preferences are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage and SharedPreferences. This data never leaves your device.

Third-Party Services

Water Time uses the following third-party services:

• Google Gemini AI: Used to verify that your photo contains a drinking vessel. Photos are sent to Google's servers for processing. Google's privacy policy applies to this data processing. Photos are not stored by us.
• Google AdMob: Used to display advertisements in the free version of the app. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data for ad personalization. You can opt out of personalized ads in your device's Google settings. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• RevenueCat: Used to manage premium subscriptions. RevenueCat processes purchase information through Google Play. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

Permissions We Use

• Usage Data Access (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS): To detect which app is in the foreground so we can show the hydration reminder when you open a blocked app. This data stays on your device.
• Display Over Other Apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): To show the hydration reminder overlay on top of blocked apps.
• Camera: To take photos for hydration verification. Photos are only taken when you initiate verification.
• Internet: To send verification photos to Google Gemini and to display ads.
• Foreground Service: To keep the app monitoring service running in the background.
• Battery Optimization Exemption: To prevent the system from stopping the monitoring service.

Data Storage and Security

All personal app data (settings, blocked apps, hydration history, streaks) is stored locally on your device. We do not operate servers that store your personal data. Verification photos are transmitted securely via HTTPS to Google's Gemini API for processing and are not stored by us or Google after processing.

Children's Privacy

Water Time is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Advertising

The free version of Water Time displays ads through Google AdMob. You can remove all ads by upgrading to Water Time Pro. AdMob may use device advertising identifiers to serve relevant ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your Android device settings under Google > Ads.

Your Choices

• You can uninstall the app at any time, which removes all locally stored data.
• You can clear the app's data in Android Settings to reset all preferences and history.
• You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings.
• You can upgrade to Water Time Pro to remove all advertisements.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. Your continued use of Water Time after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
